By now we know that, with the help of Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 it is possible to jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 3.
How Does It Work
The hack is done by pointing Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 to beta 1 firmware file of iOS 5; however it was advised to perform the jailbreak with caution as it was reported that App Store apps were not working after jailbreaking Beta 3.
According to the latest developments, the iDevice dev team has released the Redsn0w 0.9.8b2, which fixes the sandbox problem.
The new Redsn0w 0.9.8b2 is compatible with iPod Touch 3G and 4G, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1 and iPhone 4 (both GSM and CDMA).
Redsn0w 0.9.8b2 supports only tethered devices, which mean the users have to connect their iDevices to a computer every time they reboot.
It is actually meant for official developers of jailbreak apps and tweaks so that they can debug their software on iOS 5 as and when needed.
