iPhone 5 vs EVO 3D – Which is Better and Why

iPhone 5 vs htc evoNew iPhone 5 is perhaps one of the most speculated and talked about gadgets in the history. Till it comes out, iPhone 4 is most likely to continue ruling the smartphone market. In a market where Apple has cornered every other smartphone that has tried to compete with the iPhone, HTC dares to unveil its EVO 3D, a smartphone with a 3D display; and it certainly has killer potential – not a true iPhone killer we’d say, but it’s indeed something quite impressive!

Agreed that today the world is completely smitten by 3D technology, but is a 3D display enough to pin down or even match up the much awaited iPhone 5? Or does EVO 3D have much more to it? Let us find out here as we try to zero in on the much hyped iPhone 5 vs EVO 3D discussion.

Memory

EVO definitely stores much less than the new upcoming iDevice with just 4GB of internal memory against the whopping 32GB of iPhone 5; however HTC makes sure to give double RAM memory of 1GB, which is expected to be just 0.5GB in iPhone 5. We hope that the gamers are taking a good note of this. And, of course you can add up extra memory with the SD memory card as usual.

Screen and Display

The new iDevice is said to have 19% of higher screen resolution and 13% of higher pixel density than the new EVO; however EVO claims to have a 8% bigger screen size, and of course HTC will be a proud owner of the first ever 3D display in a smartphone, which is yet to be seen in iPhone or any other smartphone in the world.

Physical Dimensions

Physically the upcoming Apple launch is expected to be shorter, thinner, narrower and lighter than its HTC rival.

CPU:

Now this is what interests us more than the multi-dimensional display of the new EVO… It is reported to be a whopping 20% faster than iPhone. The new HTC smartphone has processor clock speed of 2×1.2Ghz against the 2×1.0Ghz of Apple’s iPhone 5.

Camera:

Apple boasts of more megapixels at the front and rear camera than what HTC has got to offer, in the new Evo 3D. The video quality is also 1.5xtimes better, and the low level ISO settings help in capturing beautiful pictures even in the dark surroundings. The HTC Evo, on the other hand, features something called the 2 stage shutter, which helps in capturing images like professional photographers.

Connectivity:

NFC allows wireless transactions like bill payments, fund transfers in iPhone 5; but EVO becomes multi-functional here with features like DLNA, radio, MicroSD slot, ability to be used as a Wi-Fi hot spot and a dedicated USB storage support.

Battery and Power:

A removable battery is always better than a non-removable one. EVO is better that way with a simple removable battery, which can be replaced when broken. The smartphone can be easily charged by connecting it as a USB device to a laptop, just like many other smartphones.

Hence, we conclude that the new iPhone 5 does have an edge over its rival, more so because of the backing of a big name like Apple; but the upcoming rivals like HTC EVO 3D, with some known and unknown goodies (like we saw here), can jump into the big fight with full force too – let’s wait and watch, and how this battle intensifies once both these sizzling smartphones hit the markets.
